TNVR: Trap-Neuter-Return and Vaccinate
Helping Community Cats, One Tail at a Time
At Whisker Mountain Animal Rescue and TNVR, we believe every cat deserves a chance to thrive in harmony with their community. Our TNVR program—Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return—is a humane and effective way to stabilize populations and improve the lives of community cats. Through this initiative, we aim to ensure the health and safety of cats while supporting the neighborhoods they call home.
What is Trap-Neuter-Return and Vaccinate?
- Trap: Friendly volunteers humanely trap community cats, ensuring they are safe and stress-free during the process.
- Neuter: Cats are spayed or neutered by licensed veterinarians, preventing future litters and reducing overpopulation.
- Vaccinate: To keep them healthy, cats receive essential vaccinations, including rabies.
- Return: After recovery, the cats are safely returned to their familiar outdoor environment, where they can live healthier and more peaceful lives.
This approach not only improves the well-being of community cats but also minimizes disruptive behaviors like fighting and excessive meowing, creating a better balance for everyone.
